About TOEFL IBT:
The new TOEFL IBT is internet based test, in the new TOEFL IBT students & other takers will develop a higher level of English ability as a result, and will have confidence that they will be able to communicate in the academic environment they plan to enter. Students can use the test to study in UK, Australia , New Zealand Hong Kong , Singapore , Japan & Korea in addition to the US & Canada.
The Test Content:
There are four language skills for effective communications –speaking, Listening, Reading, & Writing.
Speaking section there are six tasks which includes independent & integrated tasks.
Listening section there are 34 to 51 questions they are longer, but note-taking is allowed.
Writing Section in writing there are two tasks one is an integrated task in addition to the current independent task.
Reading there are 36 to 70 questions, it has new questions, categorize information & fill in a chart or complete a summary.
Writing & Speaking sections may be considered more challenging because they are new to the test takers.
The total test time is three hours.
About The Results:
The total score is 120 out of which 75 to 80 is considered good. Scores are posted online in 15 business days after the test days & then mailed to the student on address mentioned.
